How to Manually Check for Windows Updates

1. Make sure the device is plugged into a charger and connected to Wi-Fi. From there, in the search bar, type "Check for Updates" and hit enter. This should bring you to the setting menu.

2. Even if it says the device is up to date, click the "check for updates" button. If the device has any pending updates, please allow them to download (this could take several minutes depending on the update).

If it takes longer than 15 minutes before you see the "Restart" button highlighted, go ahead and restart the device and repeat this process until there are no pending updates listed. If any updates fail, that's okay, but try this process a few times. For larger updates this could take several minutes (30 minutes - 1 hour).

Click restart now and repeat step 2 until there are no more updates.
